Beach Update 2025-05-22T20:00:13.000Z

Please be advised that we currently have restrictions in place at several of our outer beach locations. Attached are maps showing the current conditions at four of our outer beach locations. For additional information, refer to the maps provided and follow all signs, fencing and barricades that are in place at the outer beach locations.

Smith Point- Starting tomorrow, Friday, May 23, 2025, restrictions will be in place due to nesting Piping Plovers. Burma Road will be closed from Cut 1A to Cut 2. Day Tripping is still allowed between Cut 1A to Cut 2, this area holds around 500 cars. Burma Road is open from Cut 2 to the for fishermen only, day tripping is prohibited at the inlet.

Shinnecock East- Vehicles are prohibited from driving beyond the park property line onto Southampton Village property.

Cupsogue- restrictions remain in place. Burma Road is open to the inlet, the ocean side is closed and no vehicles are permitted.

Cedar Point- restrictions remain in place and the entire peninsula is closed.

These restrictions are to protect the piping plover nesting grounds.
